Locos on Tour - between York and Carlisle
The Waverley, originally called the Thames–Forth Express, is the name of an express passenger train that was operating on the Midland Main Line from London St Pancras to Edinburgh Waverley, ceasing operation in the mid 60s
Whilst the headboards on the various locomotives read The Waverley, they are in fact operated by The Railway Touring Company every year in Summer between York and Carlisle.
These photographs taken by 'Gricey' of 'The Boats and Canals Forum' are of various locos that passed his house making this run..
